Joe South

Joe South pitched five strong innings to get the win for the Athletics. The Razorbacks took a 2-0 lead in the first. Paul Weaver tied the game with a 2-run HR in the bottom of the third. The A's scored two more times in the frame and five times in the 4th inning to take a 9-2 lead. Both teams scored three in the fifth before Joe Simunac closed the door for the Athletics first ever win in May. Every A's player got a hit as they scattered 18 hits over the ball game. For the Razorbacks, Barry Babcock went 2-2, 2R, 1RBI and a Home Run. Rob Crowe went 2-2 with 2RBI. Paul Cuffley also went 2-2 with 1R.
