Winning Pitcher
Joe South

The A's took a 3 -1 lead after one with Scott Rollins belting a two run home run to right field. The Mudcats came back to tie up in the second with two of their own. The A's added five more in the third with Scott's second two run shot of the day. The cats added two in the fifth and five more in the sixth to tie the slug fest at 10 before the A's gave Warren Eamer the sheep hook after six innings. With the game tied Joe South came in to close the door in the seventh and knocked in Roger Hassman for the winning run with two out in a close battle. Kevin Stack sacrificing his body for Mudcats as their ninth fielder made a diving catch in right field in the second to rob teammate Wayne Williams of a hit.
