Winning Pitcher
Darryl Carney
The Cobras and
Cardinals played for the first time this year with the Cobras
starting new pitcher Daryl Carney. Daryl started the game throwing 4
pitches in the first inning to retire the side. The game was
scoreless until the Cobras scored 2 runs in the second off of
Cardinal starter Wes Morris. The Cobras scored 2 more in the third
on back to back to back singles by Doug Perkins, Daryl Carney and
Bruce Dorwart. The fourth inning was highlighted by Murray Beauvais
going yard off of the new Cardinal pitcher Steve Rizzo. A ball that
short hopped the fence beside the caretakers house in right field.
The Cardinals scored their first run off of Carney in the top of the
5th. The Cobras scored 1 more in their half of the 5th and then 2
more in the 6th to extend their lead to 8-1. The Cardinals pushed 2
runs across in the top of the 7th off of Cobras pitcher Orien but it
was not enough.
