Ron Clarkson threw 6 solid innings to pick up the win for the Mudcats in the nightcapper, fanning 7 and limiting the 'birds to 4 hits. John Yeomans picked up the save. Firebirds newcomer, Jason Christie, tried to stretch a triple into a HR in the top of the 7th but blew a tire halfway to the plate - he was dead meat anyway. 30 lbs lighter Firebird Mike Willcox showed improved range by backhanding a liner from Steve Crowe behind 2nd base.
