Winning Pitcher
Tim House
The night cap saw the Mudcats visit a Hot Red Sox team. The Sox have
had a great first half and continued yet again this Saturday night
with a 5-3 win. The cats put up a single run in the first only to
see the Sox plate 3 runs on three hits in the bottom of the inning.
By nights end the Sox held the Cats at bay and only surrendered 5
hits in the game. A slightly different approach to defense was seen
by Moe behind the plate as every time Tim threw a breaking pitch in
the dirt with nobody on it would somehow miss the catcher and hit
umpire John square. John will have to explain all the lumps bumps
and bruises in the morning the the wife for sure..LOL. When we spoke
with the dozens of fans on hand, word was that it was a very
entertaining game with lots of good defensive plays and some hard
hit balls. Most notable had to be a ball hit up the middle that 2
bagger, Lance charged hard at and then left it (last second) for
standout SS Glen to sweep hard toward RF and quickly pick the ball
and throw a strike to first off of his back foot. Steller it was!
Chad Costello pitched well in his return from the IR (shoulder) and
Ron Clarkson also looked good in relief for the Cats.
