The Cobras struck first with 2 runs in the first inning with back to back doubles from Bruce and Julian. The Cobras managed to put another run on the board in the 3rd off of Firebirds starter Bill Boscher. The Carbras thought they put the game out of reach in the bottom of the 5th with Daryl Carney's bases clearing double putting the score to 6-0. The Firebirds were not going to go away easy as a combination of good placement hitting with poor placement defense by the Cobras put the score 6-4 after 5 1/2. The Cobras then added 3 more runs in their half of the 6th and cruised to a 9-4 victory.
