Brian Smeltzer pitched 4 innings and picked up the win for the Canadians. Fraser Dorland came on and pitched 3 scoreless innings to pick up the save. Brian Smeltzer had a safety squeeze bunt hit to score Ken Medhurst, who tripled to deep right center, with the tying run in the 5th inning. Another crisp double play from the Canadian defense of Hannah to Smeltzer to Ellison. Brent Collins made a fine catch of a line drive in the last of the 7th to end the game while battling a tough sun. Ron Clarkson continued his hot hitting with a first inning double.
