Darren Ramsey went 3-3 with three RBI including the game winner in the seventh as the Redhawks came from behind to win 10-8. The Redhawks made it 1-0 in the top half of the first but he Firebirds responded scoring five times in the bottom half. Bevan Blatchford was able to accomplish a rare two hit inning in the first for the 'birds. The Firebirds increased the lead in the second to 7-1 as Vince Thorndycraft became the second Firebird to get an RBI with a hit by pitch after Nobi Sakata did it in the first. The Redhawks were able to score five unearned runs in the top of the fourth to pull within one at 7-6, highlighted by an rope to the center field fence by Marc Karbowiak and a two run single by Darren Ramsey. The Firebirds answered with one in the last of the fourth on an RBI single by Bob Neufeld that scored Don Boscher making the score 8-6. The Redhawks tied it with single runs in the fifth and sixth before taking a 10-8 lead in the seventh on RBI singles by Darren Ramsey and Andy Philip. The Firebirds were able to bring the tying run to the plate with one out and drove a deep ball to the left center field warning track that Jason Lapierre tracked down for the second out to preserve the lead. Kent Zirk came on in relief in the second to pick up a well deserved win.
